About
Boundaryism is an ongoing research project on the conditions under which social arrangements lose their legitimacy.
It develops a framework for identifying normative boundaries across questions of definition, cost transfer, exit, and institutional repair. Rather than prescribing an ideal society, it examines the point at which existing arrangements cease to justify the burdens they impose on the people inside them.
The work is published here as it develops — a founding text, working papers, essays, and cases. It is not a finished doctrine. Papers will be added, the theory will be revised, and the project will grow in public rather than arrive complete.
Boundaryism is the work of Fa-Chiung Chang, an independent researcher.
